The RoboQuEST ball boy robot beside a tennis ball

When we started the year, the robot could follow a ball, but it caught fewer than half of them. Most of the misses came from the model losing track of the ball against the back fence.

What changed

We moved the camera higher, added a second tracking pass and rebuilt the scoop so it does not push the ball away. The new model runs at 30 frames a second on the robot itself.
